LineNow vs Prediko: Test Planning and Supplier Order Changes

Compare Prediko and LineNow using your own demand, supplier packs, changed confirmations and partial deliveries. Includes a practical Shopify purchasing trial.

Compare by operating fit

Use the comparison to decide where the workflow should live.

LineNow is strongest when supplier replies, PO status, receiving, and inventory/accounting handoff need to stay tied to the order record.

Compare Prediko and LineNow around the buying decisions and supplier work your Shopify team needs to run. Prediko combines inventory planning with purchase-order creation, tracking and supplier communication. Check its purchase-order product information for the current offer.

We make LineNow. Our Shopify purchase order software connects replenishment decisions, supplier packs, reviewable confirmations, receipts and invoice context. This comparison sets out what to test; it does not assert an independently measured winner.

Start with the planner’s question

A planning-led evaluation should begin with your own items, demand and constraints. Include a steady bestseller, a seasonal item, something that sells irregularly and a product with stock already due. A polished forecast for one predictable SKU will not reveal how the application handles the rest of your catalog.

For each item, compare:

  • The demand history and forecast horizon used
  • Supplier lead time, minimum order and purchase pack
  • Existing stock and outstanding purchases at the destination
  • The proposed quantity and explanation
  • What the buyer can change before committing money

In LineNow, replenishment settings and supplier mappings need configuration and review. A connected Shopify store supplies useful context, but does not remove the buyer’s responsibility for checking the plan. The retail replenishment guide explains the relationship between demand, buffer stock, packs and the next purchase.

Then change the supplier commitment

Read before ordering

A dense operator briefing for teams that need sharper buying, cleaner supplier follow-up, and fewer expensive surprises.

Continue beyond generating the PO. In an illustrative test, the plan calls for 24 bottles, purchased as six cases of four. The supplier confirms four cases now and two next week, while increasing the price from $18 to $19 per bottle.

Have each vendor show how the buyer learns about that change and how it affects the purchasing record. In LineNow, inspect the supplier email beside the reviewable quantity, price and date updates. Ask who approves the change and how the warehouse finds the latest expectation.

Next, receive the first four cases. The useful result is not simply a “received” badge: the team must explain 16 bottles received, eight still due, the destination stock and the revised cost. The living purchase order guide describes this order-state model.

Prediko also advertises supplier communication and PO tracking. Ask it to demonstrate the same exception rather than inferring a missing capability from a short feature list.

Planning breadth and implementation fit

If sophisticated planning is central to the purchase, give forecasting and buying-table usability enough trial time. If your forecast is already usable but supplier changes consume the week, weight the confirmation, receiving and accounting handoffs accordingly.

For LineNow, confirm the supported Shopify item/location mapping and choose which process records each receipt. Advanced warehouse functions, ERP production records and per-unit landed-cost allocation are separate requirements to scope. Check current pricing against business units and intended integrations.

The Whitmans customer story describes one retailer’s supplier-coordination workflow. It is relevant product evidence, not a head-to-head outcome against Prediko.

Make the decision with the people who use it

Have the buyer explain the reorder, the receiver explain the outstanding quantity and the bookkeeper trace the invoice. Choose the setup they can operate reliably. For other approaches, use the Shopify procurement software shortlist; for LineNow, bring the same test to a Shopify purchasing demo.
