For software buyers
Evaluate the workflow, not only the feature list.
LineNow is built for teams that need purchasing recommendations, purchase orders, supplier replies, receiving, and accounting handoff to stay connected.
For Shopify merchants, the right procurement software depends on where buying breaks down: deciding quantities, creating supplier orders, coordinating changed confirmations, receiving stock or preparing the bill. Start with that job, then compare products using an order your team actually handles.
We make LineNow. This guide explains where our Shopify purchase order software fits alongside native Shopify and other applications. It is a shortlist by operating need, not a claim that one product wins every workflow.

Product scope changes. The sources below establish advertised capabilities, not hands-on comparative testing or a guarantee that every feature fits your setup.
Shopify native purchasing: establish the baseline
Shopify supports supplier POs and inventory receiving. Before buying another application, follow the native purchase-order workflow with one supplier. Document the work your team still performs outside it. If the workflow meets your needs, that is a valid outcome. Shopify purchase orders.
Stocky is no longer an active option. Merchants replacing it should separate historical records, outstanding purchases and opening inventory balances. Use the Stocky migration checklist.
LineNow: supplier execution for stocked ecommerce
LineNow is built around the purchasing record as it changes: the recommended order, supplier packs and terms, the supplier's reply, received quantities and invoice context. Ecommerce businesses carrying goods from several suppliers can use it to keep buyer, warehouse and finance work connected. Physical stores are optional.
For example, a buyer orders six cases of four bottles. The supplier confirms four cases now, two later and a higher unit price. The buyer reviews the changed confirmation, the warehouse records 16 bottles received, and the remaining eight stay visible. The Shopify product walkthrough shows this illustrative sequence. The Whitmans customer story describes a related supplier-coordination problem in a retail catalog.
Check the boundaries. Configure supplier, item, purchase-unit and receiving-location mappings. Agree which system records stock receipts and which creates the accounting bill. A connected Shopify store is not a promise to recreate native Shopify PO or transfer records. ERP production, advanced warehouse operations and accounting policies need their own evaluation.
For stores whose suppliers ship customer orders directly, use the separate dropshipping workflow. The Living Fit story demonstrates supplier routing with custom order details. That is a different buying job from replenishing a warehouse.
Prediko advertises purchase-order creation, tracking, supplier communication and Shopify inventory workflows alongside planning. Test both its planning decisions and the supplier-change sequence your team handles. Prediko purchase-order management.
A useful comparison question is how each product represents a supplier's changed quantity or delivery promise and how the receiver learns about it. Have each vendor demonstrate the same case; a feature label alone does not answer that question.
Sumtracker: connected inventory and replenishment
Sumtracker presents inventory synchronization, bundle management, demand forecasting and replenishment for Shopify and Amazon businesses. Include it when stock across channels and bundles is central to the problem. Ask how supplier ordering and receiving fit those stock records. Sumtracker.
Inventory Planner: forecasting and buying decisions
Inventory Planner focuses on inventory forecasting and planning. If you have a planner or a purchasing process already in place, inspect how recommendations become buying decisions and how the resulting orders reach the people managing suppliers and receipts. Assess the handoffs with your actual accounting and warehouse tools. Inventory Planner.
Auto Purchase Orders: PO automation with inventory workflows
Its Shopify listing includes supplier management, PO automation, receiving/inventory features and accounting connections. Check the triggers, supplier routing, partial receipts and plan-specific integrations relevant to your operation. Auto Purchase Orders.
Precoro: purchasing controls
Precoro is worth assessing when requests, approvals and purchasing governance drive the decision. Map those requirements first, then confirm how the proposed setup connects to Shopify and inventory. Do not assume an accounting integration also provides the commerce-side operations your team needs. Precoro.
Compare the whole order, using the same evidence
Bring the same small test to every shortlist vendor:
Buying: choose the destination, supplier SKU, purchasing pack and quantity; check open purchases.
Confirmation: introduce a changed price and split delivery; identify who reviews it.
Receiving: receive only part of the order; verify stock and quantities still due.
Accounting: inspect the invoice against agreed cost and actual receipt; agree the bill owner.
Recovery: correct a wrong mapping or duplicate receipt and inspect the history.
Select the product your team can operate reliably. If supplier changes are the recurring problem, start with the LineNow Shopify purchasing walkthrough, then use an actual order to assess the fit.
