Compare by operating fit

Use the comparison to decide where the workflow should live.

LineNow is strongest when supplier replies, PO status, receiving, and inventory/accounting handoff need to stay tied to the order record.

Compare Assisty and LineNow on Shopify buying recommendations and supplier follow-through. The right choice depends on the operating record your team needs and the work each configured product actually completes.

This comparison is published by LineNow and is based on the vendor documentation linked below, checked September 4, 2026. It is not a hands-on comparative test. The worked example is illustrative, and absence from a public page is not proof that a feature is unavailable.

What Assisty documents

Assisty's current site describes Atlas, an inventory assistant that explains suggested quantities, answers stock and sales questions, and drafts purchase orders. It also describes scheduled PO drafts with an approval queue, Shopify data synchronization, forecasts and a supplier-grouped buying table. An evaluation should include those capabilities. See the primary source.

For a Shopify buyer, the useful starting point is whether the recommendation can be explained and adjusted. A plain-language assistant can help the buyer inspect the inputs; it does not establish forecast accuracy by itself. Choose a representative mix of stable sellers, seasonal items, new products and intermittent sellers before comparing results.

Check the inputs before comparing the assistants

Use this illustrative worksheet: expected demand over the cover period is 140 units, usable stock is 50, and 30 confirmed incoming units will arrive before they are needed. The uncovered requirement is 60 units before any extra buffer or pack rounding.

Now change the incoming delivery date so it falls outside that period. The buyer should be able to identify why the requirement changes. Introduce a recent promotion and a week when the item was unavailable; inspect whether either is treated as normal demand. Ask both vendors to show which inputs can be corrected, who approves the resulting order, and how the change is recorded.

Continue into supplier follow-up: send a confirmation that changes the pack size. Check whether the new quantity is in cases or units, who reviews it, and whether incoming stock stays correct. Score the explanation, the purchase decision and the supplier handoff separately. A convincing chatbot answer should not substitute for the correct record.

Read before ordering

A dense operator briefing for teams that need sharper buying, cleaner supplier follow-up, and fewer expensive surprises.

What to demonstrate in LineNow

LineNow is built around a living purchase order: supplier replies, reviewed changes, receiving and accounting context remain connected to the order. That is the supplier-execution part of closed-loop procurement.

For your trial, demonstrate the actual channels, fields, permissions and accounting destination in scope. The supplier's message is evidence to review, not permission to approve any substitution or payment. Keep the financial system of record and any specialized production or warehouse controls in place unless a broader change has been explicitly designed.

Choose from the operating evidence

Shortlist Assisty when its Shopify planning and approval workflow matches the buyer's daily work. Include LineNow when maintaining the supplier commitment, receiving record and accounting context is also a substantial task. Compare both on your data; this documentation review does not establish a forecasting winner.

Before signing, get the required modules, locations, users, transaction limits, onboarding work, support and renewal terms in writing. Use the same scenario and users for each demo. Record what is automated, what needs review and what remains in another system. Current pricing should come from the vendor's quote or pricing page, not an undated comparison table.
