LineNow is strongest when supplier replies, PO status, receiving, and inventory/accounting handoff need to stay tied to the order record.

Compare SOS Inventory and LineNow on QuickBooks inventory detail and purchasing handoff. The right choice depends on the operating record your team needs and the work each configured product actually completes.

This comparison is published by LineNow and is based on the vendor documentation linked below, checked September 4, 2026. It is not a hands-on comparative test. The worked example is illustrative, and absence from a public page is not proof that a feature is unavailable.

What SOS Inventory documents

SOS Inventory describes QuickBooks Online integration, purchase and sales orders, lot and serial tracking, manufacturing, warehouses, partial receiving and backorder tracking. It is an inventory and operations candidate for businesses using QuickBooks, with a broader scope than a basic PO form. See the primary source.

Start with the inventory detail your accounting system needs and the operational detail your warehouse needs. Lot numbers, quantities in separate locations and partial receipts may belong in an inventory application, while the ledger receives the appropriate financial records. An integration logo does not explain that ownership.

Receive two lots and reconcile one bill

Create an illustrative PO for 100 units at $12 each. Receive 60 units in lot A on Monday and 40 in lot B on Thursday. Record the quantities and receipt dates separately, then introduce a supplier bill covering only Monday's 60 units.

Ask the implementation team to identify the source record for the receipt, the amount sent to QuickBooks and the open balance on the PO. The Monday bill is $720 before tax or other charges; it should not be confused with the $1,200 full-order commitment. Later, return five units from lot A and inspect the inventory movement and supplier credit process.

Run a failed-sync and retry case with the same receipt and bill. Require a visible error owner and a way to identify the existing destination record. The operational benefit of a connection depends on correct updates and recoverable failures as well as successful initial synchronization.

Read before ordering

A dense operator briefing for teams that need sharper buying, cleaner supplier follow-up, and fewer expensive surprises.

What to demonstrate in LineNow

LineNow is built around a living purchase order: supplier replies, reviewed changes, receiving and accounting context remain connected to the order. That is the supplier-execution part of closed-loop procurement.

For your trial, demonstrate the actual channels, fields, permissions and accounting destination in scope. The supplier's message is evidence to review, not permission to approve any substitution or payment. Keep the financial system of record and any specialized production or warehouse controls in place unless a broader change has been explicitly designed.

Choose from the operating evidence

SOS Inventory is a relevant candidate when QuickBooks-linked inventory, traceability and order operations are the core requirements. Evaluate LineNow when the supplier's changing promise is hard to keep aligned with that record. Do not assume a direct LineNow–SOS connection; demonstrate and document any proposed handoff.

Before signing, get the required modules, locations, users, transaction limits, onboarding work, support and renewal terms in writing. Use the same scenario and users for each demo. Record what is automated, what needs review and what remains in another system. Current pricing should come from the vendor's quote or pricing page, not an undated comparison table.
